Together, we developed an innovative virtual try-on solution for mobile users. With image generation in less than five seconds supported by Amazon Web Services (AWS), customers now have an interactive, personalized shopping experience that stands apart in a saturated retail market.

FASHION MEETS INNOVATION

From Pilot Success to Global Rollout

Amid the increasingly competitive retail industry, a leading fashion and lifestyle platform needed to differentiate itself by offering an innovative customer experience. The company turned to EPAM for its GenAI expertise and knowledge in the fashion industry to develop a solution that would allow customers to visualize how clothes look without physically trying them on.

We worked together to build a sophisticated virtual try-on solution for mobile app users that could generate realistic 3D digital avatars dressed in selected items from the collection. Built and hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) — including S3, EC2 and EKS — the new feature is optimized for scalability and efficiency, capable of generating up to one million images per week.

During the pilot phase of the engagement, over 30,000 customers tested the solution, demonstrating its popularity. Following the success of the pilot, the virtual try-on application was successfully rolled out across all regions and is now running in production. Not only did this solution significantly enhance the customer experience, but it set a new standard for how to leverage GenAI to provide a more interactive and personalized shopping journey.
