MEET SOME OF OUR EPAMERS WHO HAVE ALREADY MOVED TO MONTENEGRO

I relocated to Montenegro with my 4-year-old daughter, and everything turned out to be an adventure. The EPAM team supported me with all the required information for my relocation, but also additional information to help me settle in. The relocation team solved questions on a case-by-case basis, ranging from schools and kindergartens to finding tax and psychological assistance specialists. The sunny town of Budva fills my heart with memories of the warmth and mutual assistance of colleagues, the kindness of locals, and the beauties of the mountains and the sea. I consider myself very lucky.

MEET SOME OF OUR EPAMERS WHO HAVE ALREADY MOVED TO MONTENEGRO

The idea of relocating to Montenegro was something we thought about for quite a long time. At the beginning of 2022, we took a long car trip through Europe and made it to our final destination – Montenegro! The country is full of breathtaking views and gorgeous beaches with blue flags. Local people are friendly and helpful (though, at the same time, they are crazy drivers!). As we have been here before, there is nothing new or unpredictable for us, but for newcomers some things will seem different to where they used to live in. Montenegro is about calmness and wonderful nature, and we are embracing it all.

MEET SOME OF OUR EPAMERS WHO HAVE ALREADY MOVED TO MONTENEGRO

For a few years I have been considering remote work from a sunny location with close access to the sea and mountains. When EPAM opened an office in Montenegro, I decided that it was my chance. I packed a couple of suitcases and took off from Moscow! I was lucky enough to start exploring the country driving every weekend to both the seashore and north sides, enjoying the stunning sunsets, domestic cuisine, and great views. So far, I’m enjoying this opportunity and look forward to meeting new colleagues and helping our office grow.

MEET SOME OF OUR EPAMERS WHO HAVE ALREADY MOVED TO MONTENEGRO

My path at EPAM started in 2017 when I joined as a Delivery Manager in Belarus. Fast forward to March 2022, and Montenegro opened its doors for relocation. At first, I decided to take a short business trip to explore the location, but I fell in love and decided to stay for longer. Montenegro is widely known for its sun, weather, and the sea, but you will also discover that locals are very kind and welcoming. I was pleasantly surprised with the philosophy of this place: there is no need to rush and run, as slowing down and living thoughtfully is people’s priority.

Interested in Moving to Montenegro?

Our team is committed to making your relocation journey as seamless as possible. Here is some more detailed information for you.

Timeline
Relocation timelines depend on each step: accepting your job offer acceptance, obtaining your visa and work permit, receiving your Police Clearance Certificate, then the relocation itself. Document processing times depend on required document readiness and typically takes between 4 weeks and 2.5 months.

Relocation with Your Family
We will support the relocation of you and your family. A work permit will be issued for you, and your family members will get a residence permit without the possibility to work.

Relocation with Pets
Montenegro is a pet-friendly country with numerous pet-friendly hotels, restaurants, and beaches. You can relocate with your pet, however you will be responsible for the logistics and costs.

Adapting to your New Country
We will support you at every step of the way, guiding you through the process, providing necessary documentation and sharing an insight into living in Montenegro.

Costs
EPAM will provide relocation-related support for you and your family to cover visa and work permit issuance fees, costs associated with obtaining documents required for your work permit (such as translations or notary fees), and costs associated with a residence permit.

Travel and Accommodation
EPAM provides options for arranging your travel and short-term accommodation in Montenegro, which may vary depending on your personal job offer terms and conditions. You’re welcome to search for alternative options yourself.

List of Documents
Information about visa or non-visa options based on your citizenship will be provided by your EPAM coordinator. Some of the documents should be prepared earlier, before arriving in Montenegro: a passport valid for 1.5 years, your diploma with grades or marks, Police Clearance Certificate, marriage certificate, if relevant, and your birth certificate. Apostille requirements for these documents may vary depending on the country of origin.

Work Permit and Visa
Similarly, you may arrive as a tourist and apply for documents for your work permit, which is a legal ground for official employment by EPAM Montenegro. Documents for obtaining your work permit must be submitted to the Police Office personally after arriving in Montenegro. For people relocating from most countries across Europe, you may enter, pass through the territory and stay in Montenegro for up to 90 days with a valid travel document without a visa. You can find the official information related to your citizenship on the official site of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro

Support for Family Members
A residence permit for your family and dependents can be requested after you receive your work permit. Residence permits do not allow for working in Montenegro but let people stay in the country during the period of validity. Only your spouse can apply for a family reunion and receive a residence permit. You will need to provide a marriage certificate.

Medical Insurance
EPAM will cover 100% of your monthly medical insurance costs and provides unique conditions and discounts for family members. Moreover, coverage includes Montenegro and Serbia, so you would be able to choose from a variety of centers in both countries.

Vacation
You will receive 20 paid days of vacation annually. This number may be increased due to a variety of reasons, such as length of service, health conditions and others.
