In 2018, we opened an office in Málaga to strengthen our European presence and expand our engineering capabilities in the region. In less than four years, the location grew from 50 to over 1,000 EPAMers distributed between the Málaga office and remotely across the country, in addition to employees who joined through a nearshore acquisition of Optiva Media in 2021.
EPAM Spain provides state-of-the-art digital engineering services for some of the world’s most prestigious clients in a wide variety of industries such as: financial services, travel and hospitality, life sciences and healthcare and retail. We’re looking forward to solidifying our place in Málaga by investing in the local community, attracting highly skilled talent across Spain, and helping our customers solve their most complex challenges.

Additionally, being a growing location, EPAM Spain provides limitless possibilities for self-motivated talents to grow their technical and managerial expertise by participating in business development initiatives, executing presales and delivering proof of concepts (PoCs) to clients.
EPAM Spain reached 1,000 employees in less than four years. What do you think this is attributed to?
EPAM Spain provides an exciting opportunity for job seekers to help engineer the future for some of the world’s leading brands. This milestone wouldn’t have been possible without our strong management team helping EPAM Spain leverage its unique engineering capabilities with a commitment to achieving business success. I offer a heartful ‘thank-you’ to my colleagues and fellow EPAMers.
How does EPAM Spain invest in the local community?
EPAM Spain supports local IT events that bring together experts from around the world to exchange best practices and drive innovation within the local tech community. In 2022, we proudly sponsored J on the Beach in Málaga and JBCNConf in Barcelona. We look forward to making appearances at React Alicante and Global Software Architecture Summit in Barcelona.
Our staff reinvest in the community by dedicating their time to sharing technical expertise through educational activities such as EPAM University’s Online Java Academy for Juniors and the eKids program for schoolkids. We are also actively involved in social responsibility initiatives like cleaning up local parks, and a recently announced partnership with Fundación Grupo SIFU to help support people with disabilities.
What does it take to become an EPAMer and what’s next for EPAM Spain?
Our goal is to become one of Spain’s leading digital delivery organizations with thousands of tech jobs created across the country in the next few years. We invite multidisciplinary experts—talented engineers, software testers, business analysts, architects, DevOps, cloud specialists and delivery managers—to join our team. We welcome professionals of all seniority levels and any skillset including but not limited to Java, Scala, Python, .NET, and JavaScript.
