KPI-driven DevOps - The Results Count
If the IT department falls short of expectations, a solution is quickly found: we have to become more agile! Success must be measurable so that agile concepts such as DevOps do not degenerate into empty buzzwords. This is what the DORA metrics and the right tools do.
- The DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) program initiated by Google defines four KPIs that make the success of DevOps teams measurable.
- The DORA metrics take both technical and organizational aspects into account.
- Tools such as the open source software Metric, Four Keys from Google or the Analytics Dashboard from GitLab help to continuously monitor the KPIs.
- In the case of heterogeneous system landscapes, a self-implemented platform can be useful.
