EPAM CONTINUUM
Three Ways Leaders Impede Their Company’s Digital Transformation
Digitalization is no longer optional for companies to succeed. However, getting it right is not only about adopting and modernizing technologies or automating processes. The success of digital transformation is largely dependent on your ability to address people-related challenges.
Knowing that transformation starts from the top, EPAM Continuum launched a survey of more than 900 senior leaders from IT and people departments all over the world to explore what they think about driving digital transformation and what they experience in their day-to-day work.
While leaders in many companies are continuously talking about digital transformation, our research confirmed that more than a half of leaders were not fully prepared to implement it. In Part One of our research report, we explore leadership’s role in driving digital transformation and share our findings about the ways leaders inadvertently hamper their organizations’ digital transformation, why it matters and what you can do about it.
In this report we investigate the following questions:
- How is IT perceived in organizations — as a general support function or a critical business driver?
- Do business and IT speak the same language and understand each other?
- Do IT and business leaders receive proper training to support digital transformation?
Read part two of our report to learn what's driving the disconnect between people and IT leaders on hiring, development and retention here.
