Senior Software Test Automation Engineer Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Responsibilities

• Test new features and understand their functional requirements
• Perform regression testing before each release by creating and executing specific test cases
• Develop and maintain detailed test cases, steps, and other artifacts to align with changing application versions and functionalities
• Analyze requirements from Product Owners and Business Analysts early in the development lifecycle to identify potential issues
• Log all defects/bugs in the tracking system with detailed and reproducible information
• Prepare summaries, status reports, and metrics to track product quality, process efficiency, and progress (e.g., Defect Density, Test Case Coverage, Prioritized Test Results)
• Perform root cause analysis for post-release defects using tools like Splunk or Grafana, and provide actionable insights for process improvements
• Review test automation outputs to identify high-level issues and report meaningful defects
• Review Pull Requests for Python (PyTest) automation scripts to ensure code quality, even if not directly creating the scripts
• Participate in usability evaluations to identify user experience challenges and suggest improvements

Requirements

• Proven experience in manual feature testing, defect tracking, regression testing, and stakeholder communication
• Skilled in analyzing requirements and reporting static testing results
• Proficient with Confluence, Jira, and Xray for managing testing workflows and documenting results
• Familiarity with web services and backend testing tools like Postman, Insomnia, Bruno, and curl
• Knowledge in cryptography principles, essential to the product s
• Understanding of PostgreSQL and ArangoDB for querying and analyzing database issues

Nice to have

• Understanding/Hands-on knowledge of Python/PyTest frameworks for reviewing automation scripts
• Basic knowledge of cryptography principles to handle the specifics of the product domain
