Software Engineer (Java) Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer with expertise in Core Java. As a part of the China Delivery team in Shenzhen, you will work as part of a geographically diverse global team. You will contribute to rationalizing practices of Agile Methodology within the development team and partner with multiple functional roles/teams to ensure delivery.
Responsibilities
- Implement functionality by following software development processes and the team's technical decision-making while under the supervision of senior engineers
- Work on technical design, analysis, debugging, profiling and developing multithread application supporting multiple business locations in different regions
- Participate and contribute to software engineering activities, including project meetings, estimation and planning, code review, knowledge sharing, etc
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related disciplines Knowledge of Core Java and Restful microservices development
- With proven track of software development experience in Java/JavaEE/Spring/Hibernate/Webservice (SOAP, RESTful), and RDBMS (Oracle) technologies
- Experience with technical projects using Agile or Waterfall methodology
- Expertise in technical design, analysis, debugging, profiling and developing multithread application
- Exposure to Apache/Tomcat on UNIX/Linux environment with shell scripting
- Proficient skills with tools used in software development lifecycle, such as IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse, JIRA, Github/SVN, Maven, Teamcity, etc
- Knowledge in JSP, JavaScript, CSS and HTML
- Intermediate level (CEFR B1) or higher of spoken and written English
- Native Cantonese speaker
Nice to have
- Experience in software development for a financial service industry, preferably in a wealth management/private banking environment, is a plus
