Senior Anthos GKE Engineer Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Anthos GKE Engineer to join our team in order to support a robust migration to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This role will be instrumental in transforming systems to the cloud, enhancing cost optimization, increasing system availability and reliability, as well as enabling advanced analytics and improved time to market (TTM). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in GKE, Kubernetes, and GCP and will play a key role in leading and executing lift and shift projects within our dynamic team environment.

Responsibilities
- Lead cloud migration initiatives for various applications using GKE and Anthos
- Design and implement highly available and scalable solutions using Kubernetes and GCP
- Develop infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible, focusing on automation and configuration management
- Optimize system architecture to improve cost efficiency, reliability, and TTM
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth and efficient implementation of cloud solutions
- Maintain and manage CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, ensuring best practices in continuous integration and delivery
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement enhancements to improve system stability and performance
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members
- Actively participate in planning and design meetings, offering insights and expertise on cloud solutions
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending enhancements to improve our cloud infrastructure
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience with Kubernetes and GKE Anthos
- Proficiency in Anthos GKE, Google Kubernetes Engine, and Kubernetes
- Background in GCP
- Skills in scripting with solid hands-on experience in Terraform and Ansible
- Expertise in managing pipelines, branches, and the overall CI/CD workflow
- Competency in configuration management using Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or Salt Stack
- Qualifications in Infrastructure as Code automation with Terraform, CloudFormation, or GCP Deployment Manager
- Understanding of CI/CD using Jenkins, GitLab, TFS, or Github Actions
- Showcase of experience in leading Lift & Shift projects preferred
- Good spoken and written English to articulate and grasp ideas with onsite teams
