We are seeking a talented Lead Cloud GCP Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design, implementation, and management of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Cloud Architect to turn requirements into deployable automation elements for cloud workloads
  • Provide first-tier support for internal and external users
  • Design, install, configure, and maintain cloud resources while developing recovery strategies
  • Oversee monitoring and ensuring timely IaaS/PaaS upgrades to support growth
  • Ensure fault-tolerance, high-availability, scalability, and security on GCP infrastructure and platforms
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines with automated build and testing systems
  • Oversee production deployment using multiple strategies
  • Automate GCP infrastructure and platform deployment through Infrastructure as Code
  • Automate system configurations using configuration management tools
  • Employ and implement microservices concepts and best practices
  • Support application development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities
  • Address issues promptly with a mindset of continuous improvement
  • Execute POCs to validate that proposed designs and technologies meet requirements
  • Quickly learn and master services used within the environment

Requirements

  • Background in production work on public cloud platforms with 8 to 12 years of experience, including at least 5 years on GCP
  • Leadership capabilities with a minimum of 2 years leading teams
  • Proficiency in GCP services including Compute, Storage, Data Tools, and Cloud Build
  • Skills in GCP networking and security fundamentals
  • Experience with container orchestration and GCP Container Registry
  • Familiarity with Load Balancers, Auto Scaling, databases, and firewalls on GCP
  • Competency in Backup and Recovery methodologies on GCP
  • Qualifications in Infrastructure as Code using tools like Terraform
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Packer, or Chef
  • Skills in containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Background in administration and scripting with either Windows or Linux/Unix
  • Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitLab, Jenkins, or Bamboo
  • Understanding of cloud migration and modernization into GCP using native tools

Nice to have

  • Competency in coding with modern languages like Python, Groovy
  • Showcase of application development experience
