Senior Data DevOps Engineer Description

We are looking for a passionate Senior Data DevOps Engineer to join EPAM and make an impact on an exciting project for a major client. In this role, you'll be a key player in maintaining and enhancing the data transformation architecture, the core foundation of the customer’s analytical data platform. If you thrive on building efficient, scalable, and reliable data processing solutions, we’d love to have you on our team!

The remote option applies only to the Candidates who will be working from any location in Ukraine.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain highly available production systems using Azure/AWS data technologies, including Data Lake Storage, Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Synapse Analytics or similar
  • Lead the design and implementation of build, deployment, and configuration management processes, with a focus on improving CI/CD pipelines using Terraform and DevOps across multiple environments and subscriptions
  • Elevate user experience on the Databricks platform by applying best practices in cluster management, cost-effective setups, and data security models
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain robust monitoring and alerting systems to ensure platform stability and performance
  • Collaborate closely with Architecture teams to ensure the platform design aligns with support and operational needs
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and automation, implementing solutions that drive efficiency and minimize manual effort

Requirements

  • 4+ years of professional experience in a DevOps or Data Engineering role
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with Azure/AWS, including Data Lake Storage, Databricks, ADF, and Synapse Analytics or similar
  • Strong background in Linux/Unix systems administration
  • Advanced skills in configuring and managing networking
  • Extensive experience managing production infrastructure with Terraform
  • Proven experience with CI/CD pipeline management using Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
  • Hands-on expertise with the Databricks platform
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL
  • Experience with at least one scripting language: Bash, Perl, or Groovy
  • Advanced knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
  • Solid understanding of security and monitoring best practices
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to visualize and communicate architectural designs clearly
  • English level B2 or higher – able to communicate directly with customers
