Lead Java Developer Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Java Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be instrumental in reimagining and re-platforming a legacy application suite into a modern, cloud-based SaaS solution using advanced technologies on AWS. Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of our new SaaS-based healthcare applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
  • Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good coding practices and habits
  • Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team
  • Facilitate the agile development process through daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective meetings
  • Design and develop robust solutions that meet the specified user requirements
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications
  • Mentor and support junior developers in the team

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Java, JUnit, and AWS technologies with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • 1+ years of relevant leadership experience
  • Background in building scalable, high-performing and robust Java applications
  • Experience with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and agile environments
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming and software architecture design
  • Capability to troubleshoot and debug application issues
  • Strong communication and team collaboration skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with JAX and Oracle Cloud
  • Experience in healthcare information systems and electronic medical records
  • Understanding of cloud-native application development
  • Proficiency in additional programming languages and frameworks
