Lead Accessibility Consultant Description
We are seeking a Lead Accessibility Consultant to join our team.
The position is crucial for driving growth and enhancing user experience by improving the accessibility of our software applications. By promoting accessible design practices and collaborating with diverse teams, the Accessibility Consultant will play a key role in integrating user feedback into development workflows to ensure our products meet the highest accessibility standards.

Responsibilities
- Conduct accessibility assessments of UI/UX design mockups and wireframes
- Develop and maintain accessibility documentation
- Advise teams to enhance accessibility practices and support process improvements
- Suggest resolutions for accessibility challenges
- Review development specifications and design mockups for ADA compliance
- Manage the accessibility evaluation team and complete accessibility reviews when feasible
- Deliver essential accessibility insights to clients and internal stakeholders
Requirements
- 5+ years of expertise in accessibility consulting, testing, specification, and requirement development
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS, alongside extensive knowledge of accessibility principles
- Knowledge of WCAG (2.0, 2.1+) and Section 508 standards
- Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and accessibility integration
- Background in creating accessibility specifications, policies, guidelines, and supporting documentation
- Showcase of test cases, checklists, test scenarios, audit reports, and VPAT/customer reports
- Competency in assistive technologies (NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack, VoiceOver), bug trackers (JIRA), test tracking platforms, developer tools (Chrome Dev Tools), and validation tools (Axe, Wave, validator.w3.org)
- Expertise in performing accessibility audits and tests for desktop and mobile applications, while providing remediation strategies
- Capability to collaborate with development teams to implement accessible features and propose alternatives
- Background in Agile methodologies, especially for large-scale projects involving global teams
- Skills in coordinating and managing testers during audits or product evaluations
- Understanding of the effort required for accessibility testing, auditing, and analysis
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation abilities
- Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher)

- Knowledge of JavaScript
- Understanding of DQ DevTools
- Capability to oversee and guide geographically dispersed testing teams
