Accessibility Consultant Description

EPAM is actively seeking a talented Accessibility Consultant to boost our accessibility solutions. The ideal candidate will lead digital accessibility projects for our clients, ensuring wide-ranging inclusivity and exceptional user experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate consultative sales processes and devise proposals
  • Deliver persuasive presentations that highlight our accessibility consulting strengths
  • Lead client workshops, navigate stakeholder discussions, and handle project-specific responsibilities
  • Design and implement a comprehensive accessibility strategy for clients
  • Create and manage a staffing plan to fulfill accessibility goals
  • Advocate for accessibility at various organizational levels, including executive leadership
  • Oversee accessibility training programs for product teams
  • Stay informed about current accessibility laws, guidelines, and trends
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and developers to integrate accessibility best practices
  • Set up and monitor key performance indicators for accessibility and report on achievements

Requirements

  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in digital accessibility
  • At least 3 years in leadership roles
  • Proven track record in rolling out and managing accessibility services and projects
  • Expertise in building client relationships and contributing to their organizational achievements
  • Confidence in engaging with senior client executives and providing strategic insights
  • Proficient in managing projects from inception to successful completion
  • Thorough knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.1, ARIA) and legal stipulations (e.g., ADA, Section 508)
  • Familiarity with assistive technologies such as screen readers and voice recognition software
  • Demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and execution of accessibility roadmaps
  • Ability to participate in technology and product strategy discussions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to integrate effectively with various teams
  • Customer-centric, innovative, and able to independently meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent command of English with outstanding communication skills

Nice to have

  • Experience conducting accessibility audits
  • Experience performing usability testing
  • Skill in providing detailed, actionable feedback to development, QA, and design teams to refine product accessibility
