Accounting Business Analyst Description

We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst knowledgeable in Bookkeeping/Accounting for our office in Cyprus to help our client (provider of pension and financial solutions) with migrating financial data from external vendor to new internal accounting software.

Our client is modernizing their Real Estate Asset Portfolio Management and decided to integrate a new Fund- and SPV-Accounting system based on an off the shelf product. To move forward with the implementation this software needs to be properly configured, populated with data and tested.

Responsibilities

  • Elicit, analyze and manage requirements from stakeholders
  • Communicate and facilitate discussions with stakeholders (Product Owners, Business Analysts from different countries)
  • Possess and manage the Product Backlog by defining, prioritizing and refining tasks
  • Possess a deep understanding of the product structure, business processes and data model
  • Conduct Product Backlog Refinement/Grooming sessions to clarify and update requirements, decompose tasks and formulate acceptance criteria
  • Assist the development team in interpreting and clarifying requirements, decomposing tasks and formulating acceptance criteria
  • Build and maintain the project documentation
  • Help the QA team with manual and acceptance testing

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial processes and reporting requirements according to IFRS/GAAP
  • ACCA/CFA certificate or equivalent is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in accounting system configuration projects is strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in working with specifications, writing user stories and acceptance criteria, as well as experience in conducting requirements elicitation, analysis and management
  • Understanding of requirements lifecycle and requirements quality criteria
  • Experience in business process and data modelling
  • Ability to build, compose and structure the project documentation
  • Understanding the software development lifecycle
  • Technical background with an understanding of microservice architecture, RESTful APIs and database design
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Fluency in English
