Lead MongoDB Database Administrator Description

We are looking for a skilled Lead MongoDB Database Administrator to join our dynamic team.

This individual will be responsible for deploying high-quality MongoDB data models and managing AWS-based database environments. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing database performance, schema management on MongoDB, and maintaining ACID properties.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal database performance through tuning and indexing strategies
  • Design and implement robust MongoDB schemas according to business needs
  • Write, optimize, and maintain complex MongoDB queries
  • Provide guidance on multi-tenancy database deployment and best practices
  • Utilize data modeling tools such as Hackolade to design effective data structures
  • Oversee backup, recovery, and redundancy procedures to ensure data integrity and availability
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate MongoDB databases with applications
  • Monitor database infrastructure and suggest improvements as necessary
  • Train and mentor junior DBAs on MongoDB practices and troubleshooting
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in database management

Requirements

  • Expertise in deploying and managing MongoDB databases
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms, specifically AWS
  • Knowledge of schema design principles and ACID properties in MongoDB
  • Skills in writing complex queries and creating indexes for MongoDB databases
  • Background in data modeling using Hackolade or similar tools
  • Understanding of scalability and maintainability in a database environment
  • Familiarity with Neo4j or other graph databases
  • Competency in Agile methodologies for efficient project management
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Nice to have

  • Background in Database Security
  • Familiarity with JSON
  • Knowledge of MongoDB Atlas
