Chief Front-End Developer Description

We are seeking a skilled Chief Front-End Developer to join the e-commerce team for one of the biggest grocery retailers in the US. As a Chief Front-End Developer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining front-end applications for self-service and administration portals, creating intuitive and responsive user interfaces for big data tools and platform components, and implementing and optimizing Vue.js components and features. Your expertise in Vue.js with TypeScript, SCSS, and CSS frameworks will be crucial in ensuring code quality and adherence to best practices. Collaborating with back-end developers to integrate front-end with server-side logic and staying updated with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development will be essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain front-end applications for self-service and administration portals
  • Create intuitive and responsive user interfaces for big data tools and platform components
  • Implement and optimize Vue.js components and features
  • Ensure code quality through proper use of linting tools and adherence to best practices
  • Collaborate with back-end developers to integrate front-end with server-side logic
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical discussions
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in front-end development

Requirements

  • 7+ years of relevant IT experience
  • 2+ years of leadership experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Vue.js with TypeScript and strong understanding of JavaScript core concepts
  • Expertise in SCSS and CSS, including responsive design principles, and experience with code quality tools (Prettier, ESLint) and best practices
  • Proficiency in GraphQL, including schema design and query optimization, and experience with GraphQL clients (e.g., Apollo Client) in Vue.js applications
  • Experience with Vuex for state management and knowledge of vue-property-decorators and vuex-module-decorators
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services and basic knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps (git, artifacts, pipeline, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Backend for Frontend (BFF) pattern and its implementation
  • Experience with Redis for caching and session management, and understanding of RESTful API design principles
  • In-depth understanding of microfrontend architecture and its principles, and experience implementing microfrontends using Vue.js
  • Good understanding of front-end authentication mechanisms and working knowledge of SQL and/or big data technologies
  • Proficiency in creating responsive and accessible user interfaces and familiarity with modern front-end build tools and workflows
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
