Senior Java Software Engineer Description
We are seeking a Senior Java Software Engineer to join our team.
The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing reactive microservices, processing streaming data, and contributing to the overall system architecture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies and make a significant impact on our projects.
The remote option applies only to the Candidates who will be working from any location in Ukraine.
Responsibilities
- Participate in daily stand-up meetings to share progress and discuss technical requirements for data processing
- Develop new reactive microservices or enhance existing ones to process streaming updates
- Expose relevant data to front-end applications using web technologies like WebSocket or web-based APIs
- Write and maintain documentation for public services and source code
- Collaborate with domain experts to understand technical requirements and contribute to sprint planning sessions
- Maintain work item state in Azure DevOps to reflect development progress and organize work items
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process and architecture
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a back-end developer with a focus on Java development
- Proven experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and event stream processing in Kafka or similar platforms
- Proficiency in Akka or other frameworks for building reactive microservices
- Experience in developing containerized applications and utilizing PostgreSQL for data persistence
- Strong collaboration skills using Git and GitHub Flow for source code management
- Familiarity with building and consuming restful/web-based APIs
- Ability to write and maintain documentation for public services using OpenAPI v3 and/or AsyncAPI
- Participation in sprint retrospective/planning sessions and adherence to agile development practices
- Fluent English communication skills at a B2+ level
Nice to have
- Experience with Spring
- Proficiency in using nginx as a reverse proxy
- Ability to write and maintain helm charts for deploying applications to Kubernetes
- Experience in using and writing gRPC services and protobuf descriptions
- Familiarity with OAuth2 for token-based authentication and creating/maintaining pipeline definitions in Azure Pipelines
- Knowledge of exposing Prometheus metrics and application logs for monitoring and debugging purposes
