Data Engineer/ETL Developer Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Data Engineer/ETL Developer to join our team at Epam, which is integrated into the client's data and analytics group. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in data engineering and be adept at developing, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and support new and existing ETL solutions and Data Lakes
  • Collaborate closely with front-end developers and client teams to determine necessary data structures, transformations, and calculations
  • Implement industry best practices for data engineering and ETL development
  • Optimize data pipelines for performance and scalability
  • Design and implement robust data models to support business needs
  • Ensure data integrity and quality in all processes

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in a relevant role
  • Demonstrable experience as a Data Engineer or ETL Developer in production projects
  • Proficiency in building data pipelines using AWS services or other similar platforms like Azure
  • Expertise in Amazon Redshift, including performance tuning techniques
  • Familiarity with a variety of AWS services including S3, Lambda, Glue, Step Functions, EC2, and Athena
  • Strong knowledge of writing complex SQL queries and experience with different SQL dialects like T-SQL, PostgreSQL, and PL/SQL
  • Competency in building stored procedures and Elastic Search stack
  • Good communication skills in English

Nice to have

  • Ability to write Python code
  • Familiarity with AWS Athena
  • Knowledge of DBT installation, setup, and usage
