Lead Windows Engineer (m/f/d) Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Windows Engineer to elevate our Windows operations and lead our international Shared Hosting Windows team.

In this role, you will be instrumental in unifying and streamlining our European Shared Windows Hosting platforms into a single, cohesive environment, laying the groundwork for developing outstanding products and services for our valued customers.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with product management, providing technical insights for project guidance
  • Assist the team lead with advice on the architecture and technical direction of software projects
  • Provide accurate estimations and collaborate on project kick-start assumptions
  • Adhere to best practices, coding standards, and security requirements
  • Advocate for continuous improvement in development processes and technologies
  • Collaborate on cross-functional teams to address complex technical challenges and find innovative solutions
  • Design secure web hosting platforms and develop new platform features
  • Coordinate migrations and automate platform operations

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Windows Administration
  • Expert-level IIS configuration, management, and security: Troubleshooting/Debugging, Deployment, Isolation
  • Proficiency in Plesk, NTFS permissions, Log analysis, PowerShell/Automation
  • Familiarity with General Windows Server management, Monitoring methods
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience in effectively communicating security issues and solutions related to code to technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.)
  • Fluent English communication skills at a C1 level

Nice to have

  • Experience with MS SQL Server configuration, management and security
  • Knowledge of REST API design/consumption
  • Familiarity with Docker and Elastic Stack
  • Experience with Puppet and/or Ansible
  • Proficiency in Gitlab and pipelines
  • C# and Classic ASP knowledge would present an advantage
