Senior Cloud Application Engineer Krakow, Poland or Remote

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across the organization to support cloud migration strategies
• Address complex issues with pragmatic and elegant solutions
• Develop high-quality, reusable code adhering strictly to coding standards
• Produce professional, clear, and comprehensive documentation
• Promote and apply best development and DevOps practices utilizing various technologies
• Engage with IT teams on solution design and provide coding samples and documentation
• Ensure a smooth developer experience for migrating to the cloud within the organization
• Maintain a focus on quality and continuous improvement in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Stay current with technology trends to leverage their benefits pragmatically

Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of Kubernetes, with a preference for experience in Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)
• Proficiency in Java and familiarity with Java frameworks like Spring
• Strong knowledge of MS Azure concepts including Network, Compute, Regions, Availability Zones
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Maven, Gradle, GitLab
• Competency in authorization and authentication mechanisms including RBAC
• Understanding of Azure Storage and Security components
• Willingness to work from the Krakow office 3 days per week
• Strong critical thinking, analytical skills and excellent communication abilities, fluent in English
• Keen interest in continuous learning and adaptability towards new technologies like microservices architecture and cloud security
• Comfortable working independently and within an Agile development environment (Scrum, Kanban)

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code using tools like Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation
• Certifications in Azure, Terraform, or Linux Foundation (e.g., Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with Kubernetes-related projects like Istio, HPA, Keda, cert manager
• Familiarity with scripting languages including Windows PowerShell, Bash
• Practical usage of Github or similar version control system, contributing to open-source projects
