Senior Accessibility Consultant Description
We are in search of a Senior Accessibility Consultant to join our team.
This individual will play a crucial role in improving user engagement and driving growth by optimizing the accessibility of our software applications. By consulting on accessible design practices and collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Accessibility Consultant will ensure user feedback is seamlessly integrated into our development processes, meeting the highest accessibility standards.

Responsibilities
- Conduct accessibility assessment of design mockups and wireframes created by the UI/UX team
- Create and review accessibility documentation
- Offer proactive guidance for accessibility integration and support process transformations
- Provide recommendations to resolve accessibility issues
- Audit development specifications and design mockups for ADA compliance
- Oversee the accessibility testing team and carry out accessibility reviews when feasible
- Convey accessibility-related insights to clients and internal stakeholders
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in accessibility consulting, testing, specification, and requirements development
- Proficiency in HTML/CSS, along with strong understanding of accessibility-related principles
- Knowledge of WCAG (2.0, 2.1+) and Section 508 requirements
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and accessibility integration
- Background in developing accessibility specifications, policies, guidelines, and support documentation
- Showcase of creating test cases, checklists, test scenarios, audit reports, and VPAT or customer reports
- Expertise in conducting accessibility testing and audits for desktop and mobile applications, offering remediation recommendations
- Working knowledge of assistive technologies (NVDA, JAWS, TalkBack, VoiceOver), bug tracking systems (JIRA), test tracking tools, developer resources (Chrome Dev Tools), and automated tools/code validators (Axe, Wave, validator.w3.org)
- Capability to collaborate with development teams in creating accessible functionality and alternative solutions
- Background in tackling large projects within scrum environments involving distributed teams
- Skills in coordinating, supervising, and leading testers during audits or product analysis
- Competency in estimating efforts required for accessibility testing, auditing, and analytics
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in English (B2 level or higher)
