Middle Data Software Engineer Description

Responsibilities
- Develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale data processing systems
- Employ various languages and tools to marry systems together or try to hunt down opportunities to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality
- Collaborate with data scientists, architects, and IT team members on project goals
- Utilize Azure Cloud tools including Data Factory and Databricks to expand and optimize our data and data pipeline architecture
- Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality, ensuring production data is always accurate and available for key stakeholders and business processes that depend on it
- Design and create data tools for analytics and data scientist team members that assist them in building and optimizing our product into an innovative industry leader
- Conduct data modeling, performance optimization, integration, and administration as required
- Perform system testing and provide support to troubleshooting user-reported data issues
Requirements
- 2-4 years of work experience as a Data Engineer
- Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PySpark
- Competency in Azure Cloud including Data Factory and Databricks
- Background in GitHub usage and understanding of CI/CD processes
- Familiarity with data analysis and affinity for data-centric approaches
- Strong communication skills and capability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Nice to have
- Experience in the role of a Python developer contributing to API creation, such as with FastAPI
- Background in Retail Tech applications and data handling
