Senior Software Engineer (DBA) Description

We're seeking an experienced MS SQL Server Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, consultants, and IT Services, to support large-scale projects
- Identify opportunities for automation and implement solutions to enhance database, data store, and data pipeline performance and value
- Promote and establish database best practices, knowledge management, and training for platform teams on database technologies and data integration methodologies
- Develop high-availability, high-quality database solutions that align with internal stakeholder requirements
- Configure, maintain, and optimize databases, ensuring data access and infrastructure controls are in place to prevent data loss and breaches
- Assist developers in identifying and resolving database-related issues, and support platform owners in improving the efficiency of database procedures for business applications
- Define, implement, and document database policies, procedures, and standards
- Monitor database performance, health, and security posture
- Perform regular database maintenance, patching, data quality checks, and troubleshooting
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- AWS Database Specialty and Azure Database Administrator Associate certified
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in database administration, preferably in the financial industry
- Strong proficiency in MS SQL Server, including Always On Availability Groups and performance optimization
- Experience with database security, audit, and policy implementation
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
