Senior DevOps Engineer Description

We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer specializing in non-relational databases and with substantial experience in AWS, Ansible, and Docker to join our team.

The chosen candidate will oversee a variety of non-relational databases, including Cassandra, MongoDB, and DynamoDB. This role involves frequent interaction with developers, product managers, and other key personnel dependent on our DataStores platform. Additionally, the candidate will engage in on-call duties and must be adaptable to swift changes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and maintain various non-relational databases such as Cassandra, MongoDB, and DynamoDB
  • Engage in on-call duties and maintain direct communication with developers, product managers, and stakeholders dependent on the DataStores platform
  • Employ automation tools to enhance process efficiency and ensure effective deployment and management of infrastructure
  • Work collaboratively with various teams to support and enhance development, staging, and production environments
  • Design and uphold monitoring solutions to monitor infrastructure health and performance
  • Advance continuous improvement efforts and promote best practices in DevOps methodologies

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years in DevOps or related roles
  • Proficiency in Linux administration
  • Knowledge of AWS services including EC2, VPC, RDS, Redis, Route 53
  • Skilled in automation tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, and Ansible
  • Strong scripting capabilities in bash and Python
  • Understanding of version control systems including GitLab and GitHub
  • Experience with IaC tools like Terraform and CloudFormation
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and deployment methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and container technologies
  • Expertise in monitoring solutions such as Datadog, Grafana, and New Relic
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage rapid changes

Nice to have

  • Knowledge of Amazon DynamoDB
  • Experience with Apache Cassandra, MongoDB, New Relic, Redis
