We are looking for a Key Java Software Engineer to join our dynamic healthcare technology team and play a pivotal role in enhancing our cloud-native patient administration system. This modern platform empowers both patients and healthcare staff by simplifying registration, scheduling, and real-time patient management across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices.
As a Key Java Software Engineer, you'll work on optimizing workflows that allow patients to self-serve-register, check-in, cancel, or reschedule appointments seamlessly. You will be instrumental in designing scalable backend services, ensuring high performance and seamless integrations in a cutting-edge, patient-centered environment.

Responsibilities
- Backend Development: Design and implement scalable Java backend services to support healthcare registration and scheduling systems
- Microservices: Optimize microservices for seamless integration, high availability, and fault tolerance
- Cloud-Native Solutions: Leverage AWS (Lambda, S3, EC2) to build and deploy cloud-native applications with a focus on scalability and performance
- System Integration: Integrate cloud databases, third-party services, and APIs to ensure a unified experience for users
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, front-end developers, and stakeholders to align on project goals and deliverables
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and enhance application performance across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices using AWS tools
- Code Reviews & Mentorship: Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers on best practices
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest trends in Java, AWS, and healthcare technology, driving innovation
- Security & Compliance: Ensure the solution complies with industry security standards and regulations (e.g., HIPAA)
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain clear documentation and provide regular project updates to stakeholders
Requirements
- Proven experience in Java with expertise in backend development and cloud-native architectures
- Strong understanding of microservices, REST APIs, and service-oriented architecture
- Experience working with AWS cloud technologies (AWS Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, etc.)
- Familiarity with Spring Boot and Spring Data for Java development
- Experience working with cloud databases (NoSQL and SQL) and knowledge of integrating them into cloud-native systems
- Solid background in DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies
- Understanding of healthcare applications, especially related to patient administration, registration, or similar healthcare workflows, is a plus
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions
- Strong communication skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Nice to have
- Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
- Knowledge of healthcare industry standards such as HL7 or FHIR
- Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and best practices
