SAP Solution Architect Description

We are looking for an SAP Solution Architect to join a global SAP Practice at EPAM and engage in technology-driven activities.

Responsibilities

  • Understand stakeholder needs to help envision and create a solution to solve a problem
  • Support cost/benefit analysis to align technology solutions to business strategy
  • Gather and catalog functional, and non-functional (quality attributes and constraints) requirements for stakeholder requests
  • Participate in pre-sales activities as a technical architect and be ready to advocate a solution proposal
  • Lead the development of new capabilities or service offerings within SAP BTP, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP SaaS, including the design and deployment of integrated end-to-end solutions
  • As part of the application development team, take the lead in solving technical challenges with industry best practices
  • Determine the impact of modifications and enhancements to applications and assist with identifying integration points and the end-to-end solution design
  • Advise on SAP CIO Guides (On-premises / Cloud / Hybrid), Integration Solution Advisory Methodology (ISA-M), Application Extension Methodology, RISE/GROW with SAP, SAP Data and Analytics Advisory Methodology
  • Estimate work efforts relating to SAP development, Basis, DevOps activities, and technical architecture components
  • Create solution architecture documentation, work/feature-breakdown structure document, and other related artifacts

Requirements

  • High-level understanding of several SAP Portfolio Categories and Products: ERP and Finance / CRM and Customer Experience / Spend Management / Supply Chain Management / HR and People Engagement
  • Understanding of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) products and at least one of the following environments: Cloud Foundry, Kyma / Kubernetes, ABAP PaaS
  • Design and implement Infrastructure as a Code (IaC) and CI/CD pipelines, deployment in different environments: Cloud, On-Premise
  • Knowledge and understanding of one or several IT architecture best practices and body of knowledge (BoK): The Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF), Information Technology Architecture Body of Knowledge (ITABoK), Business Technology Architecture Body of Knowledge (BTABoK), Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBoK) and others
  • Knowledge and understanding of one or several SAP best practices and SAP methodologies such as SAP Human-Centered Approach to Innovation (including Lean Architecture), SAP Activate Methodology, RISE/GROW with SAP, SAP Golden Path for SAP BTP, SAP Integration Solution Advisory Methodology, SAP Enterprise Architecture Methodology, SAP Data and Analytics Advisory Methodology
  • Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA and SaaS Extensibility: In-App, On-Stack, and Side-by-Side
  • Knowledge and understanding of one or several end-to-end business processes: Idea to Market, Source to Pay, Plan to Fulfill, Lead to Cash, Recruit to Retire, Governance, Finance
  • Knowledge and a good understanding of several architectural styles such as Monolith, Layered Architecture, Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Actor/Module-Based Architecture
  • Knowledge and a good understanding of several architecture patterns such as Performance and Scaling (CQRS, Event Sourcing, Sharding, etc.), Integration (Shared Database, Messaging), Fault Tolerance (Isolation, Heartbeat), Security (Federated Identity, Gatekeeper, Valet key, etc...)
  • Experience in SAP Technical Architecture Modeling (TAM) and Architecture Concept Document, SAP BTP Architecture modeling
  • Experience with cloud computing technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google
  • Competency in a programming language (-s): ABAP (Standard/Cloud Development), SQL, Java and/or JavaScript (Node.js, TypeScript), Groovy, XSLT
  • Knowledge of programming models/frameworks: SAP Cloud Application Programming Model (CAP Java or Node.js), ABAP RESTful Programming Model (RAP), ABAP Programming Model for SAP Fiori, SAP Fiori Elements, SAP Business Object Programming Framework (BOPF)
  • Understanding and experience in several following SAP BTP services/capabilities: SAP HANA Cloud, SAP Build Process Automation (including Workflow Management, iRPA), SAP Build Apps (low-code/no-code), SAP BTP Connectivity, SAP Cloud Identity Services: Authentication / Provisioning, Integration Suite (including API Management), SAP Build Work-Zone/Central Launchpad, SAP (Advanced) Event Mesh
  • Expertise in designing and developing Web-Services (REST, SOAP, WebAPI) as a consumer/provider and their deployment in different environments
  • Proficiency in the core URI capabilities of OData, and capable of designing, developing, and deploying OData services as code-based (v2/v4), mapped data source (MDS - only v2), Reference Data Source (RDS - only v2), and using service definition/binding (v2/v4)
