Responsibilities
- Lead short engagements focused on container technologies and multiregion infrastructure
- Join existing DevOps and agile teams responsible for developing and maintaining Infrastructure as a Service using AWS technologies
- Deploy, maintain, and enhance performance of containerized applications in EKS
- Collaborate with development teams to build EKS environments that support application development
- Measure system and process performance, identifying areas for improvement
- Monitor and troubleshoot infrastructure issues in AWS cloud-hosted environments
- Research and implement new technologies to enhance existing systems
- Identify, evaluate, deploy, troubleshoot, and contribute to open-source tools and technologies
- Collaborate with other teams to create infrastructure solutions
- Break down work to create infrastructure, while documenting and executing design and implementation
- Collaborate with software engineers and QA teams
- Have an understanding of APIs
Requirements
- Solid AWS experience is required
- Ability to work effectively within a team and with minimal supervision is required
- Experience with container orchestration systems such as AWS EKS or Kubernetes is required
- Experience with CI/CD systems is required
- IaC automation with Terraform or CloudFormation is required
- Solid experience with Linux administration (Ubuntu, CentOS) is desired
- Experience with server-side technologies such as Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, and Redis is desired
- Shell programming experience with Bash, strong command-line skills, and experience with at least one of Perl, Python, Ruby, etc., is desired
