INTRODUCTION

To Keep Up with AI, Companies Seek More Humans … But Are They Setting Them Up for Success?

The irony about AI is that its success depends heavily on the humans who design, implement and optimize it. Without the right experts guiding its development and fine tuning it for specific needs, even the most advanced AI systems can fall short of their potential. Human expertise remains the backbone of AI innovation.

And enterprises are recognizing that…

THE RESULTS

Enterprises Prepare for the Next Talent Transformation

How many, if any, of the following AI roles is your company looking to hire in 2025?

65%

of disruptors agree or strongly agree that they know the skills necessary for AI adoption

43%

of companies plan to hire AI-related roles in 2025; this number rises to 47% in disruptors

42%

of companies think their staff needs to upskill; this number climbs to 46% for disruptors – and engineers are more likely to think this than the C-suite (43% vs 41%)

<4%

of executives said their company had no plans to expand their AI teams

WHAT THEY MEAN

Enterprises Know They Need People … But Do They Know How to Manage Them to Maximize AI Success?

While many fear that AI will lead to widespread job loss, the reality might be quite different. The executives we surveyed overwhelmingly believe that AI initiatives will spur organizational growth rather than shrink it. In fact, less than 4% of respondents reported having no plans to expand their workforce.

Yet, even as job openings boom, we know that businesses are still focused on deploying their AI (and thus their talent) on solving quick-win use cases of productivity and operational improvements.

To maximize the potential of both their people and AI, enterprises need a prioritization method that ensures they are working on the right AI projects, at the right time to generate the right business impact.

By providing this strategic leadership to their business, executives can help their teams focus their efforts appropriately. They can have a direct influence on their ways of working and have a hand in managing change at all levels of the organization.

Ultimately, they can help their people harness the power of AI to create high-value, revenue-generating opportunities that provide real business value.

WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT

Boost Speed to Value by Equipping Teams with What They Need

Prioritize Use Cases

Perhaps the most important thing executives can do is adopt and apply a prioritization framework to their AI use cases.

Inventory Your Skills

Take a clear look at the skills currently available in your organization. Identify any gaps in expertise, so that you can roadmap a path forward for successful AI adoption and implementation.

Hire for the Right Roles

Focus on recruiting individuals with expertise in AI, data science and other critical areas that align with your organization's goals. Hiring for these roles will set you up to take your business from tackling the low-hanging fruit to achieving true transformation.

Upskill Your Current Teams Appropriately

Invest in your current workforce — provide ample opportunities for team members to learn new skills and stay ahead in an AI-driven world. Training your current loyal workforce introduces a cost-effective, reliable way of adding new skills to your organization.

Equip Employees with Agentic AI Partners

Start implementing agentic AI, so that your employees can effectively partner with AI to multiply their knowledge and skills, leaving them able to create even more impact on the organization.

Create, Fuel & Foster an AI-Fluent Culture

Make sure your entire organization understands the potential and limitations of AI. Encourage learning and open dialogue about the role AI can play in your business, so employees feel empowered rather than threatened by the technology. A culture of AI fluency will help your organization adapt and thrive, as they understand how to safely and securely use these tools.
