The World Health Organization (WHO) reports that depression, anxiety and lifestyle driven health challenges lead to a staggering loss of 12 billion working days annually, costing the global economy around $1 trillion in lost productivity. Recognizing this challenge specifically in India, Arogya World, a pioneering non-profit dedicated to combating non-communicable diseases (NCDs), particularly diabetes, through education and lifestyle interventions, has been at the forefront of workplace wellness in India.

Through its scientifically designed Healthy Workplace Program, built on WHO guidelines, Arogya World has recognized over 255 organizations, positively impacting more than 8.2 million employees across India. This pioneering initiative integrates mental, physical and nutritional well-being, reinforcing Arogya World’s leadership in corporate wellness.

Dr. Nalini Saligram, Founder & CEO, Arogya World believes “Workplace wellness must go beyond programs to become a core corporate value. Digital health, personalized wellness, and forward-thinking policies are key. Flexible work, mental health support, and AI-driven solutions foster a thriving workforce. Leaders must embed well-being into corporate culture. A healthier workplace drives both employee success and business growth.”

Arogya World hosted the prestigious 2024 Healthy Workplace Conference and Awards, India’s leading red-carpet celebration of workplace health and resilience. This landmark event brought together visionaries and organizations committed to fostering employee wellbeing, blending a high-profile awards ceremony with impactful knowledge-sharing sessions.

The evening shone a spotlight on organizations demonstrating unwavering dedication to employee health and happiness.

Deepa Prahalad, Author, Speaker, and Board Member at Arogya World US, emphasized the role of innovation in workplace wellness, stating “Health and design must work together to create sustainable well-being solutions. Technology, user-centric design, and data-driven strategies drive lasting impact. AI, smart infrastructure, and ergonomic spaces enhance workplace wellness.
