Senior Network Engineer Remote

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyze data to identify underlying network issues and recommend detailed solutions
• Implement network virtualization and SDN solutions based on standard practices and previous experiences
• Automate routine systems administration responsibilities to improve network efficiency
• Evaluate system performance issues and ensure compliance, availability, utilization, throughput, and latency
• Create new infrastructure and tools to support new projects
• Support PCI compliance issues and secure system access and monitoring
• Maintain and troubleshoot DNS and perform hands-on administration of Windows and Linux operating systems

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of UNIX/Linux system administration experience with a large infrastructure and organization
• In-depth understanding of Linux internals and experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of UNIX/Linux based infrastructures
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Perl, Shell, Python, and Terraform
• Experience with automation toolsets such as Chef, Jenkins, Ansible, Puppet, Foreman, and MDT
• Familiarity with ITSM tools like ServiceNow and Jira
• Strong knowledge of Amazon Web Services and load balancer concepts
• Knowledge of GitHub Actions
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English at a B2+ level

Nice to have

• Industry specific experience in DNS administration, configuration management (CHEF/CINC), and basic networking essentials
