Milestones in EPAM's Software Development Outsourcing History
1993 — EPAM is founded as a software development outsourcing services provider with the headquarters in the USA, NJ, and an Offshore Software Development Center located in Belarus. 1995 — EPAM is awarded a project by the world’s Consumer Goods and Services industry leader — Colgate-Palmolive. The developed Global Sales Support System has been successfully used by the Colgate sales force across its global locations. 1997 — EPAM enters into partner relationships with SAP AG. Since then the company has been actively involved in different types of projects for SAP: from prototyping to software development and support. Today EPAM is an official SAP Services Partner. 2001 — EPAM becomes an official vendor to Microsoft. BEA and EPAM Systems, Budapest, form NearSourcing partnership offering BEA-based software development services through the "WebLogic NearSourcing Centre" (WNC). 2002 — EPAM earns the international ISO:9001 quality certificate. A new Offshore Development Center is established in Russia. EPAM establishes the corporate Training Center. Aberdeen Group cites EPAM as a trendsetter in "A Buyer's Guide to the Russian Software Development and Services Export Industry". EPAM is named one of America's entrepreneurial growth leaders by Inc. magazine. 2003 — EPAM becomes the first CMMI® Maturity Level 4 software development services provider in Europe. A new Offshore Development Center is established in Belarus. 2004 — EPAM Systems announces strategic merger with Fathom Technology to become the leading Eastern European software services outsourcing firm. EPAM establishes the European Headquarters in Hungary with the customer support and Offshore Development Center functions. Software Magazine ranks EPAM Systems as one of the 500 world's largest software development companies. A new Offshore Development Center is opened in Russia. EPAM's software development pool totals over 1000 people. 2005 — EPAM is recognized No.1 software development outsourcer in Central and Eastern Europe and named among "Top 10 Specialty Application Development Leaders" in the first annual "Offshore 100" round-up of top global offshore ITO and BPO service providers. EPAM establishes a European customer support center in London, UK. Additional Offshore Software Development Centers are established in Russia. EPAM expands its delivery capabilities by opening an Offshore Development Center in Ukraine. 2006 — EPAM is reaffirmed as the No.1 IT Outsourcing provider in Central and Eastern Europe and ranked among global "Top 10 Specialty Application Development Leaders" in the exclusive annual top "Global Services 100" listing of the world's leading ITO, BPO, and customer care service provider for the second year running. EPAM Systems secures equity investment from Siguler Guff. EPAM is awarded the Microsoft Gold Certified Partner status. EPAM Systems expands its nearshore software development outsourcing presence in Germany by opening a European customer support center in Frankfurt. The company's software engineering pool totals over 2,000 people. EPAM and VDI announce a strategic merger to create the largest IT Outsourcing provider in Central and Eastern Europe. EPAM is named #1 in multiple categories of the "Top 50 Best Managed Outsourcing Vendors" rating by outsourcing analysts. EPAM is awarded the "Hyperion Affiliate Consulting Partner"s status. 2007 — EPAM opens three new university-based training centers in its offshore software development location — Belarus. EPAM is identified as the leading choice outsourcing vendor with IT offshore development buyers within the "Top 50 Best Managed Global Outsourcing Vendors" rating. EPAM is rated the top Central/Eastern European and Russian ITO service provider within "The 2007 Global Outsourcing 100". EPAM's world-wide employee number hits 3500.
